Okay, you know how I’ve said I’ve only got a couple of blades left to try? Yeah…Not so much.
I found the contents of a couple of samplers stashed in the Proraso green box. Somehow I hadn’t shared them, and logged them in the collection. So yeah, I’ve got more blades. And I don’t entirely remember when I bought them.
There are a couple of upshots from this: first, I needed more and better storage. And second, I needed to log them in the spreadsheet. The storage is shown above.
Turns out I’ve now got 36 blade brands/types in the collection (and 37 on the spreadsheet, but as always, we shall never speak of the Kai again). Which means that instead of just one more to try, there are actually 16 left to experience. I know, how will I ever survive? Since I usually try them for at least 3 weeks in my 3 favorite razors, that means I should get to them all probably by sometime in 2029. So stay tuned for that!
I remember putting some of these on various wish lists. I must have added them to an order, though they aren’t showing up on any orders from Razor Emporium, so, yeah. Probably with the Maggard’s sample order. Or something. And I’m really not sure how I set them aside, then found them and put them into the Proraso box when that arrived, and forgot about them. Though I’d acquired a lot of stuff around that time, I might have just said I’d come back to them soon and there wasn’t a rush.
So what’s new in the collection? Asco Super Stainless, Astra Superior Stainless (Blue), Big Ben Super Stainless, Crown Super Stainless, Derby Extra, Derby Premium, Dorco Titan, Lord Classic, Lord Platinum Class, Shark Super Chrome, Lord Super Chrome, Lord Super Stainless, Parker Premium Platinum, Personna Platinum, Sharp Hi-Chromium Durablade. And don’t forget I need to use the Super Max Titanium as well.
So that’s what’ll be upcoming over the next…oh…years? I mean there are blades I want to go back to as well, so these will keep me busy for quite some time.
